This rare White Mao Feng tea from Hunan is an experience unlike any other. Stronger and more complex than other white teas, the 11-step preparation is truly a labor of love.
The story goes that a man and his wife grew weary of monkeys stealing their tea crop. They went to the top of a mountain to speak to a shaman of what was happening. The shaman gave them seeds and told them to grow and prepare 100 tea plants. These plants would then be placed in a chest for the monkeys.
The farmer and his wife did as they were told and sure enough, the monkeys took the tea from the chest and never returned.
This tin serves approximately 80 cups, and will keep fresh for up to a year.
